White chocolate buttercream is an easy buttercream to make. Just adding the melted milk chocolate to the American buttercream gives us this yummy, creamy, sweet frosting. It is apt buttercream for the hot climates (I believe) as it acts as a stabilizer to our butter from melting.

Ingredients :
250 grams Butter (unsalted, soft)
250 grams Icing Sugar (sifted)
200 grams White Chocolate (bar or chips - I used bar)
1 tsp vanilla essence
1-2 tbsp Milk or heavy cream (room temperature)
Method :
If you are using the chocolate bar, break them into pieces and then melt it either using a double boiler or in microwave. If you are using microwave keep the chocolate in there for 20 seconds and mix in between.
Once the chocolate has melted, leave it to cool.
In the mixing bowl beat the butter on low speed till soft and then add the icing sugar little at time and beat till fully combined.
Add the vanilla extract and melted chocolate to it and beat it at medium speed. Use a spatula to clean the sides of the bowl. Make sure that all the ingredients are well combined.
The buttercream should be in spreadable consistency, if not use milk or heavy cream now to lighten it as per your requirement. Add one spoon at a time.
You can add color to the buttercream at time point of time.
Note that this buttercream is usually very sweet as milk chocolate is very sweet in itself and then we added the icing sugar.

Adding color to the buttercream :
Use the gel colors instead of traditional liquid food colors as it gives much more vibrant colors in small quantity.
Liquid gel colors even though are water based but contains glycerine and corn syrup, which makes it a semi-thick gel and concentrated form of food coloring.
Powder colors are used most often in applications where water is prohibited, such as in chocolate and dry mixes. Using them in buttercreams won't help as they will not mix well and stay in the buttercreams as small particles.
Remember to add color always start with one (1) drop at the time and mix. With time the color intensifies.
