Pizza is a savory dish of Italian origin consisting of a usually round, flattened base of leavened wheat-based dough topped with tomatoes, cheese, and often various other ingredients which is then baked at a high temperature, traditionally in a wood-fired oven.

Ingredients :

  • 1/2 of Pizza dough (the recipe can yield two 12"inch pizzas)

  • 3 tbsp Pizza sauce

  • 1 cup of cut vegetables - onions, red peppers, capsicums, pineapples, olives & jalapenos

  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese

  • 1-2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • Dried Oregano & Dried Basil for sprinkling

  • 1 tsp all-purpose flour

Method :

  • Preheat the oven on 200°C for 10 minutes.

  • Sprinkle some flour on the pizza pan to avoid sticking on the pan and using hands roll out the pizza dough on the pan. Try to keep it of same thickness.

  • Brush some olive oil on the pizza base and well on the sides. Spread the pizza sauce all over the base.

  • I like to mix all vegetables in a bowl except olives or jalapenos and sprinkle some salt over them.

  • Top these vegetables over and add the olives or jalapenos whichever you like. If you can't find those, you can also put cut green chilies.

  • Cover the pizza with the grated cheese and sprinkle some oregano and basil on the top.

  • Bake in the oven for 7-10 minutes at 200°C till the base becomes golden brown and the cheese on top melts and turns brown.

  • Serve the pizza hot.

Tip: Do not add a lot of veggies as it will overload the pizza base.
